Benchfolk makes sauna goods for people who sweat together.

The opportunity was to build a brand from nothing. No name, no legacy, no product story to lean on yet. Just a hanging loop on a felt hat, waiting to become a mark. Not another wellness brand. Not spa language. Not luxury posturing dressed up as ritual.

The name had to do more than sound nice. It had to tell you who you become when you sit down.

I led naming research through dozens of candidates before landing on Benchfolk, then built the identity and voice around it: a loop-tail mark echoing the product's own hanging loop, and a vocabulary with teeth. Bench, not heat therapy. Folk, not consumers. Gather, not connect.

The work was less about making sauna culture look good and more about giving the bench itself, the pause between rounds, the conversation that outlasts the heat, a brand worthy of what actually happens there.
